National Library-Seoul

Each month the kindie kids at S.E.A. take a field trip aligned with our “Monthly Theme” course. March’s theme was “back to school” and names of rooms-such as office, classroom, etc. Our field trip took us to the national library.

The bus ride in the rain was fun and reminded me of field trips as a child. We sang a few English songs. The kids also had fun pointing out all of the Korean whereas we have a rule that doesn't allow the kids to speak or write in Korean.

We arrive at about 10:30 a.m. and were taken on a special tour. The kids got to watch a video about the library and were also able to watch a movie about a book. The English voices they used were as atrocious as they were comical.

We then got to spend a decent amount of time in the Foreign book room. The library offers a huge selection of books in about every language imaginable. The kids had a great time listening to the teachers read and browsing through the books.

I was initially disappointed with our field trip destination, but I think the kids truly enjoyed it. All in all, it was a fun day!
